Julio Molina is a experimental musician/sound artist based in Granada (Spain), whose work focuses on acousmatic compositions, live electronics, sound installations and soundtracks. He also releases music under his pseudonym gurb.
What fascinates him about music is its capability to transport us to domains where concepts and reason fail to illuminate. His aim is to venture into these unexplored realms of experience by embracing errors, intuition, playfulness and destruction as gateways to delve deeper into the unknown.
All of this leads him to be constantly experimenting with coding, diy electronics, extended instrumental techniques, sampling and field recordings.
He holds a Bachelor from the Institute of Sonology at the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague (NL) . He teaches courses and workshops on music production and sound art.
He also plays banjo.
